Radon testing

Long-term 91-day tests in the heating season, plus short tests for real estate deadlines.

Health Canada recommends a test of at least three months during fall or winter, in the lowest lived-in level of the home. Windows are shut and furnaces run, so the result reflects the worst part of the year. We place the detector, log the dates and send it to the lab.

Short tests of a few days are useful when a house sale has a deadline, but radon moves up and down with weather and season. A short result is a screening number, not an annual average.

You get the lab report and a plain explanation of what the number means for your home.
